Privacy Policy

 

This Data Protection Notice sets out the basis which Bitopia Technology PTE LTD may collect, use, disclose or otherwise process personal data of our customers in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act ("PDPA"). This Notice applies to personal data in our possession or under our control, including personal data in the possession of organisations which we have engaged to collect, use, disclose or process personal data for our purposes.

 

1.       What personal data is collected


1.1.    Data collected directly from you. This may be done through this website, over the phone, by email, or in person when you meet our staff or representatives. The data collected may include, but is not limited to:


a)           Your contact information, including your (first and last) name, (billing and/or delivery) address, birthdate, email address and, optionally, your telephone number. We need your e-mail address and (optionally) telephone number so that we may contact you if we have questions or information for the service that we are providing or will provide to you.

b)          If you have contacted customer service, the details of this contact and the contact history.


1.2.    How we use cookies:


A cookie is a small file that requires your permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you have agreed, the file is added, and the cookie helps you to analyse your web traffic and reminds you of any stateful information whenever you pay a visit to the same website.

 3.1.    To adhere to a legal obligation, process or request (such as disclosing Customer Data to executors in response to court orders) or if you violate our Terms of Services.

4.1.    We ensure that the information you have provided is protected against unauthorized or unintended use, access or disclosure. However, we cannot be held responsible for unauthorized or unintended use, access or disclosure that is beyond our control.

4.2.    Measures that implemented:

  a)           Restricted access to information contained in our systems and those of our business partners and vendors.

  b)          Information security policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to personal information.

  c)           Up-To-Date antivirus protection is implemented.

4.3.    You should be aware, however, that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of your information and are constantly reviewing and enhancing our information security measures.

 

5.       Accuracy of Personal Data


We generally rely on personal data provided by you (or your authorized representative).

 

6.       Access and updates to personal information


You are responsible for informing us about changes to your personal information from time to time and have the right to request for the amendment of inaccurate or corrections of information.

Please send a written request to our Data Protection Officer using the contact details set out at the end of this policy. Our Data Protection Officer will respond to your request within thirty (30) days after you have made the request.

 

7.       Retention of Personal Data


7.1.    We may retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable laws.

7.2.    We will cease to retain your personal data, or remove the means by which the data can be associated with you, as soon as it is reasonable to assume that such retention no longer serves the purpose for which the personal data was collected, and is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.

 

8.       Transfer of personal data outside of Singapore


8.1.    Your data, including Personal information, may be transmitted to - and managed on - servers placed outside of your residing province, country, state or other government jurisdictions where data protection policies and laws may vary from your own jurisdiction.

8.2.    Your agreement to our Privacy Policy pertaining to submission of the information from your end reflects your consent to its transfer.

8.3.    We ensure that your personal data is handled securely as per this Policy.

 

9.       Consent


9.1.    The consent that you provide for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data will remain valid until such time it is being withdrawn by you in writing. You may withdraw consent and request us to stop using and/or disclosing your personal data for any or all of the purposes listed above by submitting your request in writing or via email to our Data Protection Officer at the contact details provided below.

9.2.    Upon receipt of your written request to withdraw your consent, we may require reasonable time (depending on the complexity of the request and its impact in our relationship with you) for your request to be processed and for us to notify you of the consequences of us acceding to the same, including any legal consequences which may affect your rights and liabilities to us. In general, we shall seek to process your request within thirty (30) business days of receiving it.

 

10.   Alteration to the Privacy Policy


We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

12.   Governing Law


This Policy is governed by the laws of Singapore. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Singapore in any dispute relating to this Policy.
